History

Eusebio Lillo together with his family went to Paris - Europe - in 1890. The purpose of his trip was to acquire valuable pieces of art for his personal collection as well as taking his talented maid Juanita to study pastry at a famous Parisian gastronomical school. Back in Chile she worked as housekeeper at Lillo's legendary country house located in the Yungay area, of Santiago - Chile.
To her graduation, Juanita created a fine and exotic dessert which deserved high recognitions. The name "Dulce Patria" comes from a line of our national anthem, written by Lillo (1847).
